UCLA homer Don Maclean has made first mention of the new unis. Of course, he likes them, being a homer. But his broadcasting partner politely said he would reserve judgment until after the game. Thank you. Those pants are like knickers, except baggier. I think the whole idea is to hide the knee so that the defense can't see which way you are going. That millisecond makes all the difference. But it looks stupid as all get out. And I would fear the ball would get lost when I dribbled between my legs. Or my hands would get hung up in all that material while dribbling.

Hell, look at Drew II. I can't see any skin on his leg between the pants and the sock. No kidding.

Bachinski down low already has 10 and is working the pick and roll well.
Felix as a high flying wing, had a nice tip rebound but missed a dunk.
And Gilling is hitting the 3 again.

Also, Muhammad his a back down hook - same power back down we were complaining about that happened to Cal recently in the post (Solomon getting fouled with no help from refs), and Muhammad finished it with a low hook on the hips before rising with the lefty hook. That happens all the time, but if you look at tapes of the game from long ago, there was very little contact like this. My. Just take away skill and give it all to the big, strong guys, will ya?

I'm rooting for Carson all the way.

Wow, ASU looks tough. They look like the hot team. I hope they take down UCLA but man, don't want to face them if they're on fire.

We are older, wiser, better coached than UCLA and would be able to defend them better. Granted, we did lose to them. We've got 2 games before that, however, and I am way more worried about Utah and Ore-UW first.

Who on our team is capable of defending Jahii Carson? With Felix and Bachynski down low, I fear that we don't matchup well against ASU.
While Crabbe was more consistent, I think Carson is the most dangerous player in the conference. He can win a game by himself if need be and can get to the paint at will. What an exciting player, I really hope comes back next year.

As an aside, UCLA's Frontcourt is just atrocious.

I gotta think that Monty would do a lot more than just shove him. Just saw a perfect 2 on 1 fastbreak; defender went with Muhammad...who never even gave a thought to passing; just went up w/ the ball and got stripped.

ESPN box score says that DrewII has 4 fouls. Jeez, just have Carson dribble into him and get him out of there. I think Powell is his primary defender but they should do a switch and force the foul. I don't understand why teams don't iso defenders more like this.

We can only hope. However, it did not hinder CU's run last year. Plus, I bet all of Tempe will be at the MGM if that were to happen.

I can't help but think the first year of the Pac12 Tourney not in LA..and UCLA takes a first game exit. SC too.

Bachynski lucky they didn't whistle him for his 3rd foul on the muhammad fast break dunk, who is now himself on the bench with 3 and drew back in the game with 4. Take him out, dammit!

Did you just see that replay of the diving layup? He had to push off the defender while going up in the air and then rotated the ball and kiss off the glass. That was nuts. I fear Carson will miss a J to lose, however.

They are probably going after the Warriors short sleeve shirt jersey. That part is fine - it's the pants I can't stand. Why they break that sh_t out for a this game - what an ego situation. They'd better not lose early in The tourney or else they will look silly and stupid. Oh, wait, they are UCLA - they already do.

I really enjoy rooting against UCLA when they are playing conference games! :-)
