Agreed. If I had a kid who was being recruited, or was a college coach, I would suggest to my recruits that they simply send 1 single news announcement to their local town newspaper and be done with it. Be humble and know that there will be bigger days/moments ahead.

Or, Where is the academic scholarship signee spectacular? We need hats for those guys in order to compete with the mindset of America so observers know there are other paths to glory.

During the recruiting process the coach and his staff become very close to a recruit . Yes they have a certain motivation to do so . Regardless , to play this game of switching hats is callous as well as classless.
