Tomorrow night's game is the first of several coming up soon that will be on ESPNU.

Warning to those with Comcast: ESPNU is NOT part of their "Sports Package" (at least not in the Bay Area). What's more, at least for me "watch ESPN" wouldn't stream it even though it would stream the other feeds. It said I wasn't authorized because it wasn't part of my subscription. So you might want to check channel 788 when you get home to make sure you get ESPNU in HD to cut down on the cursing and throwing things tomorrow night. Just a friendly public service note.

ps I just called to upgrade my package to add ESPNU. After I explained why I needed to add it today the sales rep asked me what team I follow. When I said Cal, he said he was a UW grad. (I'll let the Shockster take it from here.)

EDIT: Not sure why but vb is auto-converting the title from all caps to initial caps only.

ESPNU comes in HD? I think I only get SD with Dish.

Hopefully once the contract dispute gets resolved ESPNU and the rest of the Disney SD channels will come in HD on Dish.

HD with Comcast, if you get the extra sport package. Uverse had it HD also if I'm not mistaken.

When you are on watch espn, look for the espn3 links. Most of the time, when a game is on espnU or any espn channel, it is also listed as an espn3 option. You can watch all espn3 option broadcasts with any comcast subscription.

Good to know, thanks. That said the watch espn service is virtually unwatchable imo. It's always extremely blurry and sometimes has audio only. This is on the same network that streams P12 and FS1 seamlessly and crystal clear. So I'm not a regular user and probably never will be unless they upgrade their technology.

I hope the UW guy gave you good service - reminds me of the old cheer, "That's all right, that's ok, you're going to work for us someday"

I streamed the BCS title game from espn3 onto a 40" TV where I was working without any picture quality issues. Not as good as in my living room, but I had no complaints.

I just checked this out with the game preceding ours on ESPN3 (comcast). The default picture quality on my computer was terrible, but if you click on the gear, bottom right, and click "high" for "picture quality", it is quite good, at least on my computer.

Thanks. I typically watch on my phone using the app but I'll try using my computer next time and will click the gear if I have any problems. Appreciate all the tips from everyone.

It's on there, but I get the message:

"This network is not included in your current television subscription. Please contact your TV provider to subscribe. https://login.comcast.net/h/tve_unauthorized_nochannel.html"

That's the same message I was getting. You need to call them and upgrade your base package. It's another $20 per month. Having the sports package isn't enough, ESPNU isn't included.

Gee, maybe having Directv without the PAC12 network isn't so bad after all. Looks like the UW and WSU games are also on ESPNu?

ESPNU is available from Comcast as a part of their "Digital Preferred Package". See:

Everyone needs to draw their own conclusions. For you, maybe DTV makes more sense. For me, DTV is not a viable option because I want to see every game and there are at least 6 games left in the regular season on P12, including road games at UW and ASU. Plus all but 3 of the P12 tourney games. So for me its Comcast and the $20 to see a game like tonight is nothing.

Schedule

Cal will be on ESPNU 4 times out of our next 5 and 6 more the rest of the regular season
