I was disappointed in the officiating last night (what else is new?). It is clear at this point that with the new rules "emphasis," games are going to be officiated in wildly different ways. Last night's game was ridiculous: 2 hours and 30 minutes, 58 total free throws. It seemed like every incidental contact was being called. No, I don't think it favored one team or another, although it could have been a problem for us, given our lack of depth right now. The game wasn't at all chippy or particularly rough, so the total fouls was somewhat ridiculous. I think part of the problem stemmed from the fact that it was so high paced that the refs were frequently out of position and guessing (block? charge? no call?).
