Arizona got #7 rated national recruit for 2015 in Tyler Dorsey.

He is from St Bosco Prep, were we recruiting him?

Not listed as a guy we were going after (Supposedly Zona, Duke and UCLA the competition).

But were would he play? Over Bird? Over Wallace? We are trying to get Rorie as well so I understand why we may not have put a great emphasis on a 6 4 guard in next year.

I feel like our next 4 recruits are pivotal to the future of the program. We have strong momentum both on the court and with recruiting (top 25 class last year and Rorie and Diallo this year) and we have offered a slew of 2015 studs.

We add another top 2014 player and we can put together three back to back to back top flight classes and set ourselves up for 2016.

I have three thoughts:

1.) Monty and Cal Marketing need to dispel this myth that continues to get broadcast in every game about how he prefers a slow paced tempo. It's absolutely BS. We love to run when we get an opportunity and do it well. We have a strong running team with Cobbs, Wallace, Bird and Solomon all exceptional at running the court and finishing.

2.) We have to start scheduling a stronger non conference slate. Every year, we need two home games against competition that will fill Haas and pique the interest of recruits. I know that home and homes can be difficult but there are a ton of programs that do it year in and year out.

3.) Monty needs to push through his discomfort over hitting the road and commit to out appearing Sean Miller at AAU games, HS gyms and living rooms of top recruits. He is wise enough to swallow his dry, sarcastic wit and instead show his softer side to recruits and their families.

We can be a perennial top 20 program and right now we're close to hitting the point where it can be a down hill effort.

Sounds like a fit for me if I want to play BB. Now if I want to be make anything of myself in a pursuit other than BB, well, maybe a stretch. That is exactly what Cal is up against in recruiting. Kids who want to play their sport, access to good looking women, easy to get grades while doing both of the above, and "adulation" for what you do. Guess what-----other schools provide it better. We need to work with that special student/athlete. Tough, but true.

Maybe, he wants to be an astronomer -- who knows?

We are doing fine when it comes to guards. We still NEED a big.

That typed - there are very good signs on the C. Brehens front. If he stays healthy and continues to work he could be a surprising contributor next year.
