Bears got it done in Seniors game

and the seniors played a BIG role...

Cobbs had 21 pts, 4 assts, 3-5 from deep, a rebound, 2 steals and ZERO turnovers. He played ALL 45 minutes.

As important he was counted on at the end to take it home, and he again was unstoppable when everyone knew the ball was going to him. He hit the two clutch FTs to send it to OT, and hit all 4 FTs in OT, including the game winner with 20 seconds left. ICE ICE BABY (sorry)

Solo had another double-double scoring 14 pts on 60% shooting and pulling down 12 boards. He out played Scott who had 10 pts and 10 boards, but was only 3-9 from the field.

Oh, and Solo had FOUR blocks, and 2 assists, with only 1 TO (scott had 2 TOs). When Solo is not in foul trouble, as with the last 2 games he is a monster on the boards and defense.

This was a team game, and there were lots of contributors, including...

Kravish with another double-double on 50% shooting and 2-2 FTs, which of course was in OT. He also got some of those points in crunch time. Half of his 12 boards were offensive rebounds.

Ricky with 6 assists and a steal, and zero fouls. He shot poorly, but as coaches like to say, 'when your shot doesn't fall, find some other way to contribute'. That was the definition of Ricky today.

Our 5th starter Wallace had a mixed game with poor shooting, but 5 rebounds and 2 steals. He did have 3 TOs.

Jabari was the only sub who played substantial minutes (17) and was 3-7 including a 3. Shooting 3-7 with a 3 is like shooting 50% from the field.

Others played some minutes to give the starters a rest, but their role were to maintain. Super Powers shot off 2 shots in 2 minutes, but neither were his signature 3 point shots.

It was just a huge win for the season, finishing tied for 3rd, and a huge win for the seniors

Amazing how well we played at both ends, after recent subpar performances.

We could do better at crunch time, if we moved the ball better, and involved the whole team more. Relying completely on Justin, with everyone else just watching and being reluctant (frightened?) to shoot, is not optimal.

Go Bears!

Jabari made a huge basket near the end of regulation. I have to say that when he drove in I freaked a little but he managed to finish a really tough contested shot. Not sure that was the best decision in the situation, but it WAS the best choice given the outcome. Also, he had a nice drive and dish earlier in the game, which we have not seen much of from him lately.

I admit that I gave up on them towards the end of that game. I saw no supporting evidence from the past several games to indicate the Bears could pull that game out. I was a little ashamed of myself when they won but the shame was drowned out by joy!:cheer
