Both CBS and espn do not have us in the big dance. If we get a couple of wins at the PAC 12 tourney we will probably sneak in. I rate our chances as one in four.

Our game v CU in P12T is a play in. We lose we're out. We win we're in. Therefore odds are about 1:1.

ESPN's bracketology hasn't been updated since Thursday, so it doesn't include our latest win. Lunardi might have us in with his next update.

The Bracket Matrix survey has us as effectively the first team out (though, again, more than a few have not updated since we beat Colorado):

Regardless, we are right on the cut line right now. Next game is basically do-or-die.

Nebraska just beat Wisconsin. Not good.

Even if Cal wins, another team in the bubble probably has to lose early in their tournament, especially as Nebraska is now in with their win over Wisconsin.

not at all. If an Oregon State, Northwestern, St. Marys win their conference tourneys, a spot is taken from a bubble team. Happens every year.

Beating the Buffs again would raise our RPI another 4-5 spots, so even with a few upsets, I think we would get in

According to ESPN's updated BPI, as of 10 March, Cal not only is "out" but way out...with 13 teams "out" ahead of Cal.

No one seems to talk about Utah getting in ahead of Cal, even though Utah beat Cal at Cal. And for that we have the win over Arizona to thank.

Lucky for us BPI doesn't mean squat, at least when it comes to tournament selections.

Utah's problem is that they played a horrible, horrible non-conference schedule. They had 2 games against Division 2 schools, which means that two of their wins don't really even "count" from the committee's standpoint, and played only one team with a pulse (BYU) outside of the Pac-12. They really needed to do better than .500 in conference to have a real shot at an at-large bid.

why leave it up to selection committees? lets just win the conference tournament and be done with it

I think we currently are way out. If we win we have a chance, but I think we are still out, unfortunately,

Most bracketologists would disagree. If they have us out, it's just barely out (one of the last teams cut).

I changed my mind, I think you're right! If we win, we're in! Lunardi's updated bracketology has Cal as the first one out. If USC beats Colorado would a win v. Sc hurt our RPI?

We do not want USC to beat Colorado. A win over USC carries virtually no benefit, and a loss is killer.

I may be mistaken, but I think that just playing USC again would harm our RPI. The only upside that I can see would be if Colorado is bumped from the Tourney for losing to 'SC. However, they look comfortably IN at the moment, so they would likely be a lock provided that they win their 1st round game.

Could work in the Bears favor if Colorado is perceived to be a lock when they take the floor on Thurs. Keep hoping for top seeds to advance in Conference tourneys - we could be buried if a few low seeds win out

Cal definitely has the most to play for. Let's see if that gives us the spark we need. We definitely played w better energy on senior night.

Or maybe Monty needs to take the kids to see celine. That might take the edge off. Not sure how many laser tag places there are in vegas.
