.. nit purchases for weds at 7:30 will commence 2pm monday. 1800GoBears might serve better till then, or not, but won't matter a'tall if like previous occasions tickets are all general admission.

nit sell outs? hasn't ever happened within living memory, going back thru the 80s.

I beg to differ on NIT attendance...

In 1986 Cal broke the losing streak with UCLA and qualified for the post season for the first time I believe since 1960. Kevin Johnson was out point guard and Lou Campanellie and his lucky velvet jacket was our coach.

We sold out the NIT game in the old Harmon Gym. I was a few years out of school then and bought a student ticket from someone who posted one for sale on a dormitory bulleting board.

Harmon was rocking for our game with I believe, Loyola Marymount and Cal lost a close, tightly contested game.... Bryant Walton who came to Cal the next year had an older brother who killed us with long range three point shots in that game for Loyola.

Chairback holders were allowed to buy their same seats for $50.00 , anyone else was told nothing available except row 28 and above. Big screw up. the computer was not reprogrammed to show season seats NOT taken. Some called and were allowed to buy their season seats. We went in person, paid $50 and got row 3 in section 1 chairbacks.

They better deal in reality this time if they want to have a hope of a decent crowd.

my mbb media guides go back to '87-8, so i can belatedly confirm at least that Harmon did sell out for Cal State Fullerton (in OT), and then pretty darned close to sold out vs OSU (bears triumph'd by 3).

was my group present? shucks, "within living memory" no longer extends quite that far.

selling out haas will be harder.

(but dint ya at least smile a little at strawbeary sweetums??)

Only way to get a decent crowd is to price accordingly: weeknight game, probably 7:30-8 pm start time, students on midterms - $25-40 for chairbacks, everything else $10.
