Had a chance to go to practice this week and get some video of their drills. The coaches have two hours a week with the players right now and Christopher has six since S&C coaches get more time to oversee workouts.

Coach Nic's fun to talk to -laid back but high energy and intense, too. The players love him and have fully bought in to his program and to what the Cal staff is selling.

Lots of interesting comments on individual players and where a player needs to be to play under Martin.

Also added video from one of their S&C workouts at the SAHPC. They work out both there and at Haas.

Excellent stuff Moraga! Thanks for posting. Great insight with Nic plus our first glimpses of some of the new players---even Coach Cuonz's ballhandling! I take it Tarwater wasn't with the team yet when the video was shot?

Unrelated question: I saw on Rooks' twitter that he got his brace removed this week. Any chance he's ready by conference play? That would be 5 months from now. I know big men heal a lot slower but was curious about his timetable.

Kravish does look bigger/stronger.

Chauca shows pretty good ability to cut while handling the ball.

Unfortunately for those that haven't had a chance to watch the video portion, we had to temporarily take it down till after the head man gets back from his trip next week but I'll post a link when it's back up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Especially love the anecdotes about Bird and Mathews pushing themselves and each other. Because of depth and roster construction, we're going to be underdogs (underbears?) to the top tier but we're going to have a fierce bite.

Nice to see Christian Behrens participating in practice with no knee brace, knee guard or bandage of any kind. If he is back anywhere near full strength/speed/quickness/confidence, that should be a big boost for this team.

They won't be joining the team till school starts.

Yes, the little guy was Cuonzo's son. He's with the team a lot.
