disclaimer: this is NOT a post about Marcus Lee. This post is NOT to provoke any non-Cal fans who occasionally post on this board.

this post is about a UK team that has crazy depth:

per espn:

I've watched a decent portion of Kentucky's games down in the Bahamas -- which were aired on ESPNU -- and this Wildcats team is the deepest I've seen in the past decade. It's not just ordinary depth, either -- it's quality, insane depth. Marcus Lee, who showed glimpses of what he could do in the NCAA tourney last year, may not find his way into the rotation. Derek Willis, who could start for at least 250 teams around the nation, is the seventh big man on the depth chart. Seventh! These guys are currently without two of their top frontline guys due to injury -- junior Willie Cauley-Stein and skilled freshman forward Trey Lyles -- and they still look deep and overwhelming.

Monty sniffed at Cauley-Stein, but he was then thought to be leaning towards Kansas State, his dad's alma mater. That was before Kansas and Kentucky came around.

If anyone with connections to Marcus Lee reads this, they might contact the new coaching staff about the possibility of Marcus transferring back home to Cal. Just to feel them out (staff can't contact Lee): New player friendly staff. Plenty of room on our frontline and can still get that Cal degree, just in case.

Even with Lee's limited PT this past season, when put into action in NCAA's and UK's strong run... if he placed his name in 2014 NBA draft, he would have been selected.
(not saying a lotto pick, but drafted IMO)

Do I hope he rides pine so that he looks to transfer out? no I hope he competes and earns PT due to his performance/development at UK. From the limited interviews I seen of him, he seems very humble and respectful. I continue to wish him success there at UK even if he did not choose to come to Cal.

And yes, I am fully aware if he did choose Cal, he would the starting 5 (exactly what we need) and in the running for Pac12 DPOY honors this upcoming season.

I don't think most (any?) of us wish a young man like Lee any ill fortune. Lets just leave it at that. Anything else devolves into a flame war in which we all know the whole story.

They have so much talent...at least 10 deep, that they will play in shifts..

They are loaded,” “It will be hard not to see them playing in the [NCAA] championship game in April of 2015.

Their second five may be better than most of the teams they have on their schedule.”

Three players averaged in double-digits in scoring: Alex Poythress (15.3 ppg), Towns (12.8) and Aaron Harrison (10.3). Marcus Lee averaged 9.5 points and Dakari Johnson 8.5.

Kentucky coach John Calipari can run waves of McDonald’s All-Americans at opponents this season and may keep playing 10 guys 20 minutes each.

“Understand all these guys are doing this in 20 minutes,” he Tweeted during the trip. “Just shows you don’t need 40 minutes to show who you are as a player.”
