Pretty sure the way that Karma works is that we get Kentucky and Marcus Lee goes for about 57 points and 27 rebounds while his brother posts every other possession on BI

Oregon deserves a 1 and they'll get it if they win the P12T. If they lose tonight or Saturday a 1 or 2 seed in the west seems to be a given.

Cal should at least have a 4 spot and may be playing Utah tonight for who gets a 3 and who gets a 4.

Arizona may be shaky in that 5 spot, needing to beat Oregon to keep it.

Since ua and Oregon have only played once it could be an interesting game. If I'm not mistaken, ua was down Trier when they lost to oregon, correct?

Would it be better to land in a 6 spot? The 4s and 5s eventually have to play a 1, which is undesireable. If you are a 6 you play the 2s and 3s. If you really should be a 4 or 5 maybe that's the better side of the bracket to be on????

Correct. Trier missed Arizona's losses to Cal and Oregon. He did play in their 4 other conference losses:

4s and 5s have to win two games and make the Sweet-16 before they would have to play a 1. There's a much better chance of making the Sweet-16 if you're a 4 or 5 than if you are a 6.

Of course a 3 Seed would be better still. Win tonight and we might get one. Win Saturday too and we probably will get that 3 Seed.

And one of his 3 seeds and one of his 2 seeds. That is six spots down from where our RPI would put us which I think is even more off the mark when you consider that our only loss in over a month is a last minute loss on the road to zona. Frankly, given the momentum, Cal should be punching ABOVE their RPI right now, not below, as they are a much, much better team than they were earlier, AND they had a portion of their season without TY. We'll see what the committee does, but I'm not giving up hope for a higher seed than predicted, especially if we win the tournament.

Not the case this year that being a 5 is necessarily better than a 6.

We know we can play with at least one #1 in Virginia. Kansas is the only team that scares me.

Lunardi's overrated:
North Carolina is the last 1-Seed, but #8 RPI. #1 BPI and #7 AP, so BPI probably influencing him.
Michigan St. is a 2-Seed, but #14 RPI. #4 BPI and #2 AP, so again BPI a likely factor.
Indiana is a 3-Seed, but #17 RPI. #16 BPI and #10 AP. Conference regular season championship probably a factor.
Duke is a 4-Seed, but #19 RPI. #9 BPI and #18 AP. BPI a likely factor.

Lunardi's Underrated:
Oregon a 2-Seed, but #3 RPI. #17 BPI and #8 AP. BPI pushing them down on Lunardi's bracket it seems.
California a 5-Seed, but #11 RPI. #18 BPI and #23 AP. Lunardi and East Coast media just aren't paying attention.

Exciting game. Michigan kept doing dumb things down the stretch that gave Indiana a 5 point lead late. Michigan made two clutch 3s in the last minute to win it.

We should be ahead of Indiana on the committee's bracket now if we weren't already. Probably far enough ahead of them that we'd stay ahead even if we lose tonight.

Unlikely- Indiana probably on the 3/4 edge while Cal a solid 5.

Texas A&M won a close one against Florida and has a relatively easy path to the SEC final on Sunday with Vandy out of the way. Cal probably has to win tonight to get (or stay) ahead of them.

4 Seeds
.6195 Kentucky beat Alabama (18-14)
.6154 Purdue beat Illinois (15-19)
.6077 Texas A&M beat Florida (19-14)
.6070 Duke didn't play.

5 Seeds
.6205 California plays Utah (25-7)
.6189 Maryland plays Nebraska (16-17)

Playing Utah does much more for the Opponent's Winning Percentage portion of the RPI than any of the others' opponents will. If Cal can win we'll move further ahead of them all on the RPI.

The loss leaves us as a 4 or 5 seed. RPI should be about the same or slightly lower when today's games are calculated.

Today, 3/12, Lunardi has us a #5 seed playing South Dakota State in the first round and Indiana (#4) seed likely in the next round. He has us in the South region with Virginia the #1 seed.
