Given that he impregnated his player, this headline was right on point.

I think you just won the internet. All previous claims to victory must be vacated.

I didn't think the headline was so funny, but this portion of the article (written a year ago) sure was interesting.

"He has an open door policy," said Louisiana Tech guard Brooklyn Pumroy. "Even though he is 24 or 25, I don't even know. To me he's 46. After you're with him on the court so many times, the maturity level he has on the court transfers off the court so it's just as easy to get advice on anything."

I also thought that quote was interesting. It's even more interesting after finding out that she's likely the player that got involved with coach.

Well consider that a very prominent and famous women's HC had an affair with a player at another university before bringing that player as an assistant coach after graduation with to her current ongoing gig many years ago.
But, since this woman is on a pedestal....nobody wants to bring it up.
No different than what has happened at LT, but because it was a lesbian thing, it is passed off as ok.

When a man is involved, it's scandalous. When women want to have sex with younger student athletes they coach who are women, it is ok.
Sounds fair to me, right?

Nobody in the know thought what GF did at Cal was okay, DD, back in the early 1980's. It simply was not dealt with and ignored in same fashion that everything was then, regardless of sexual preference. Nice try. (And if you are talking about the coach at Ohio State in the late 1970's, you don't have the facts straight. But nice try again.)

What makes it "scandalous" (=to some) is that he had (1) "changed the culture" at LT by instituting a family values type theme for his players and (2) he is married. More laughable, than scandalous....

Agree. Personally I figured that's what 25 y.o. and 22 y.o.'s do...hook up. It's natural as the sun rising. Seriously, given his mom, marrying his HS sweetheart and being anointed a pillar of the community at age 23, maybe this is what he needed.

If anything it's the devout Christian/family values hypocrisy which I don't really care about except it should be pointed given there's a move to legislate these "values" into law.

Most people recognize the inherent problems with player/coach sexual relationships irrespective of orientation. There have been lots of lesbians in WBB for decades, but still stigmatized at many schools.

In fact Pat Summitt said she wouldn't recruit known lesbians.

I don't know much about this but I was under the impression the opposite was true. Didn't Tennessee stop their annual game against UConn because they were pissed that UConn was negatively recruiting and calling UT a "gay" program?

People gonna wonder if he was Hutton' that up in Marquette, too.
Working on offense? Hmmm

From wiki:
He played basketball at the University of Tennessee for two seasons, playing a total of nine minutes in six games and making his only shot attempt, a three-pointer.[3] Summitt served as assistant coach to Terri Mitchell at Marquette University, at which he oversaw the team's offense, prior to being hired as head coach of Louisiana Tech's Lady Techsters on April 1, 2014.

That's because it is well known among elite coaches that unknown lesbians have better game.

her son also had a no-lesbians policy, though he justified it by saying "It's not that I don't like lesbians, it's that I really like heterosexual women"

Gay bashing seems slimy, ridiculous, and self-defeating for college sports, especially in the current times. Like a relic from a bygone era, Rupp's late '60s Kentucky teams or Bear Bryant's early '70s 'Bama teams.

USF coach Jennifer Azzi is the only openly gay head coach in college WBB and her wife is the only openly gay asst coach. That's sad and absurd. SEC didn't have their first Black head football coach until 2004 (Sylvester Croom at Mississppi State).

Did he impregnate his former player, while STILL being married to his HS sweetheart? [http://www.swishappeal.com/2016/4/7/11389990/tyler-summitt-impregnates-former-player]
