Apparently Draymond Green was arrested for assault early this AM after a fight in an East Lansing restaurant.

My biggest takeaway from the article is that he laid $3 million on his alma mater. How many pro Bears have done that?

He slapped a current MSU football player during a confrontation but the guy dropped the charges.

Draymond Green got into it with another man on Sunday and assault charges were filed. Now, it turns out that other man was a Michigan State football player who is expected to drop charges.

Police originally said the incident involved Green and another man and that it was "basically an altercation between a couple of guys." Then word came out that Green had slapped the guy after being provoked.

Now Tony Garcia of MLive.com has new information that sheds light on who the other man was and that shows the beef between the two will likely end without any actions being taken against Green that will affect him next season.
Hearing from multiple sources the man that Draymond Green allegedly slapped is MSU DB Jermaine Edmondson.
Tony Garcia (@RealTonyGarcia) July 11, 2016

Correct. It is my understanding that Edmondson has already planned on dropping all charges. https://t.co/iYpSnbNyRu

As we figured earlier in the day, this appears to be an incident that will blow over quickly.

More importantly for Green and the Golden State Warriors, it appears he won't have to deal with any long-term issues of a legal nature.

On a different note, this incident highlights the fact that Green really does need to grow up. His actions in the 2016 NBA Finals against LeBron James (watch here) could have cost the Warriors the title, and now he's getting into it with a college kid who appears to have gotten his goat.

Yeah, but losing the title might have brought in Kevin Durant! That's likely a trade worth making, as it potentially gives the Warriors more than 1 title back in exchange - though the title PLUS the 73 reg season wins IS enticing.

Who here thinks KD would have joined the W's had the W's beaten the Cavs?

phtttttt! The NBA's story was all about believeland this year. If Bogut hadn't been injured then they would have suspended Draymond more or called more ticky tack fouls on Steph. LJ threw DG to the floor and stepped over him yet did not get one foul.

First -are you arguing with yourself on BI? Or at least quoting and counterpointing? A new attempt to increase post count?

Second (my real point) - I think if W's had won, the commish would have blocked a KD move to W's. Conspiracy theorists may suggest that was part of the deal (KD for the 2016 ring, short dynasty to follow).

The warriors have gotten lots of bad publicity of late, the signing Durant (hated by most except us, warrior fans), Stephen criticized for his high cost of his summer camp, and now this problem with Draymond. On top of this Steph's wife should not have been tweeting out so much during the championship games. Warriors are no longer "America's team".

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but didn't mean to say women shouldn't be outspoken but in this instance felt she was too protective of her husband. Let Stephen and the Warriors take care of their own business, via social media or on the court. But with this said, nothing like a little bun in bed either!

"America's team"? Hmm, not so much outside of the Bay Area. Even the night the Warriors won 73 they were overshadowed by Kobe's performance.

America's team, meaning they were well respected, squeaky clean, lots of home grown talent, and played an exciting brand of BB. Similar to football where Dallas Cowboys were at one time considered America's Team.

Keep in mind, it's a Lakers fan perspective being offered re. Kobe vs. 73.

Watching Sportscenter and elsewhere, they were both huge stories. Hard to say one overshadowed the other.

Some fans will resent the Warriors for signing Durant with the rich getting richer and also because of Draymond's antics, but most of the team are pretty likeable guys and they play a really exciting brand of basketball with a lot of joy so I don't think the W's will become the league villains for a large part of the country.

Dallas was America's team because they called themselves America's team. If anything, I think most people hated them for it. As for the squeaky clean image they portrayed, that was a stark contrast to the amount of coke they were snorting off the field.

Except that they not well respected, were dirty on and off the field, had less Texas or drafted talent than most NFL teams and were no where near as exciting during that era as say... the Raiders. They did push a lot of merch with the blue and silver star, though - go Murica!.

Anyway, OTB sort of beat me to it.

Well, there is a bit of truth to the claim:

1) Lakers got ESPN while Warriors got ESPN2 (before the game, no?)
NO, WAIT, I stand corrected. Kobe got bumped by the W's for the more popular channel.

2) Kobe did have a pretty good ending: 60 pts.

Here's the final word. Sounds like they both won, in a sense.
I started with the Lakers, but it was hella boring early. I was shocked to hear about the ending, and I had to go watch it on rerun somewhere...
History beat out a grand finale. At least in terms of ratings.
The overnight ratings for the Golden State Warriors 73rd win, the most wins in NBA history, edged out the final game of one of the NBA's best known players of the last 20 years, Kobe Bryant.
Golden State's march to 73 brought in an average viewership of 3.6 million viewers for ESPN on Wednesday night.
That just out shot the average viewership of 3.4 million for ESPN 2, which broadcasted Bryant scoring an electrifying 60 points in his career ending appearance to help the Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Utah Jazz.
The Warriors game peaked at 4.2 million viewers at 11 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. EST, which was roughly the second quarter of the game.
The Lakers game peaked at 5.1 million viewers at 1 a.m. to 1:15 a.m. which came towards the end of the game when Bryant pushed to 60 points.
In other words, I AGREE WITH YOU.

That would be stupid.
I'd like to be funny by posting a bunch of one word posts like:

Why (stop)
would (stop)
I (stop)

But I'm sure I would be the only person finding it funny ribbing you that way.

Yes, lots of joy and arrogance and groin shots. Outside of the Bay Area, not as well liked as you think. As for America's team, Lakers are closer to that title than the Warriors.

Two recent studies on this. One is based off of Twitter: http://guyhut.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers-americas-favorite-nba-team/
The other was an ESPN Sports Poll in 2014 when the Lakers were terrible, yet still ranked second on the list: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11040129/miami-heat-america-top-nba-team-espn-sports-poll-shows

I don't care about the NBA, and I'm an A's fan, but it is so funny how bitter LA fans are that the Warriors and Giants have been kicking ass.

But LA doesn't care about the Bay Area. Everyone from LA will tell you that...endlessly

Bitter? Please. And who's kicking ass again? Last I checked, Lebron and the Cavs were the champs. I just find it amusing that all these new found Warriors fans talk about "Americas Team" like it's some kind of dynasty or something. Trying winning more than one in a row (and lucky they got the one to boot!).

Yeah. Bitter. I'm not a Warriors fan, but when you are a fan of one of the worst teams in the league and you find yourself having to join a conversation downgrading a team that won the most games in history because they lost the championship series in 7 games and then call their championship from the year before "lucky", you define bitter. And, by the way, the Warriors enjoyed incredible support through years of futility. Any implication of front running is bogus and doubly hilarious coming from an LA fan.

How dare you Warrior fans show pride in having a great team.

But just to be clear Bay Area, my bitter rants don't mean I care about you. Cuz I don't. Not me. I'm chill. Don't care at all. See how awesomely chill and not caring I am. I don't care at all that you're all winning and happy and stuff. Be that way you jerks that I don't care about.

When I was growing up in LA, I liked the Warriors in the 70s with Barry Wilkes etc. and the Oakland Raiders while also being fans of all the LA teams. I neither liked nor disliked the As or Giants. When I came to Cal I didn't get the LA hate. I'd ask guys, why do you you hate LA, LA doesn't hate you? Having lived 20 plus years in both LA and Bay Area, there's an obsession up here about LA that isn't mutual.

I'm an Oakland boy. I hate SF but have no problem with LA. I did like the Giants until the A's came to town. I root for the 49ers when they suck but back off them when they are good. Most of my SF buddies growing up hated the A's and Raiders in the 1970's when both teams ruled and the SF teams struggled. I have always been a Warriors fan since they are the only NBA team in the Bay Area (never followed the ABA Oakland Oaks). Sandy Koufax was my favorite baseball player as a kid. I read his bio by Jane Leavy twice. He is an enigma. Batters claim his ball movement was 2 feet even though that is supposed to be impossible.
