Yes, Rooks and especially Okoroh can be frustrating sometimes, with dropped passes and missed shots, but we are very fortunate to have them. They are big bodies, they can be intimidating shot blockers, and they take up space impressively. That is not to be underestimated. It would be nice if they could be decent scorers, although Rooks is showing promise, but when Rabb returns he will be hitting the inside shots. But to underscore their importance think back a few years to a tournament game against South Florida. They had some big bodies underneath and they pushed Cal around badly. I remember thinking at the time that Cal really needed players like that and where were they going to come from? Well, they're here. I still believe that college basketball is more of a guard-oriented game - look at Charlie Moore tonight - but it is always good to have the big guys blocking or redirecting shots and clearing the boards. And I am glad to see that Rooks is shooting free throws better. Let's get everyone healthy and exact revenge against San Diego on Monday!
