Don't tell me I'm the only one who bought and still possesses one of those Sarunas Marciulionis Lithuania Olympic Basketball Team tie dyes. It's even Grateful Dead themed: I've always wanted a hug from Bill Walton!

Only problem is, about 25-30% of the color in it is red (which makes it the reddest piece of clothing I own). Still, I'm considering it...

Never have liked tie dye and see no connection between it and Cal basketball.

I saw no one wearing it last night. Guess the 60 year olds declined. Stupid promotion.

More fun, though, was the timeout piece showing current Cal bball players reacting to their first listen of Grateful Dead music. Bill Walton on the screen.

THAT was funny. I was totally surprised by the lack of tie dye last night. I didn't expect MUCH, but I also didn't expect next to nothing. Really surprised they didn't at least give out some number of sponsored promotional shirts.

I wonder if that video is posted online. I was at the game, but it didn't have captions and I couldn't understand more than half of what they were saying.
I was surprised Walton wasn't there in person for tye-dye night though. If they're going to have an obscure promo like that, they really need to give out tye-dye shirts, since there aren't many fans who own those.

THE UCLA promo guy was absent. I wonder if this promotion was his idea?

I like to go along with Cap promotions, yellow out, white out and so on. However, tie dye? Can't do it.

That is the issue. I don't own any tie dye but a shirt that is all green that my daughter made.

Give me some blue and gold tie dye for a promo and I'd wear it, but I wasn't about to go out and buy one.

The Walton/Cal team listening to the dead was pretty hilarious.

I was really hoping one of the players would say something like, "Now I understand why all of their fans were on drugs." That really would have been hilarious. I would hope that one of the players would go up to Walton and give him some Dead-related grief the next time he's doing one of our games.

It's been rainy and cold in the Bay Area all week. Lots of people are sick, including me. Can't expect people to wear a tye-dye t-shirt when it's 40 degrees out. They should bring back this promotion for early in football season. That would make more sense.

Yes, Walton can always be hard to understand, but I couldn't even understand half of what our players were saying in the video. They really need to but subtitles on those video features.
