Looking at our conference schedule, every weekend except the one at the Arizonas, we play the stronger of the two teams in the first game.

Is this normal and I just never noticed before?

Also, any opinions about whether this is an advantage or a disadvantage?

I would think it is a slight advantage because a coach can spend more time on a game plan for the stronger team...other than that, I don't know that it matters much...

Lucky us.
Random chance.

+1. Add to that if you get the win (as we did with UW) you can feel good about going into Sat/Sun. Or if you happen to lose, you can get back to even with BDW.

Not sure who's stronger between UW and WSU. I generally agree with bearmanpg on this, although when you are at home, there is an argument for playing the stronger team 2nd, in that it can be harder for the traveling team after 3 days on the road.
