That's the only way to describe the PAC-12 (or maybe lukewarm doo-doo). UCLA loses by 15 to LIBERTY? ASU loses at home to PRINCETON? (And they were supposed to be the class of the conference). And we need not dwell on Cal. Larry Scott must be thrilled. PAC-12 = Mid-major?

Alford, Jones, and Kent should all be out. You want to let them finish the season as lame duck coaches, whatever, but there's no reason for any of those guys to be in their current job any longer than 48 hours after their team's last Pac-12 tournament game.

some stats from the Liberty vs UCLA game

my first comment: is Liberty even D1?

UCLA out rebounds Liberty 44 to 27 and 15 of those rebounds were offensive rebounds

I'm thinking that anytime I out rebound an opponent by 17, including 15 offensive rebounds, I win the game

yet UCLA still only shot 29%
oh, and they had 24 turnovers

therefore despite the big rebound margin, Liberty still had 7 more possessions

but there must be more for Liberty to beat them by 15 right? Liberty must have hit a bunch of 3s right?

But Liberty is a really good mid-major ... they have a good record at 11-4
No, Liberty's 11 wins came against a cupcake schedule ... some examples, Main Fort-Kent, Trevecca Nazareen, and Savanah State. They lost to Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Alabama and Austin Peay (no shame among those loses)

So what is wrong with UCLA?

The only thing I see is they are a young team. They have no seniors and four juniors (2 of which play zero minutes)

Not only is Liberty D1 in hoops, they are a member of the FBS in football.

The conference is awful. And I still see us MAYBE winning 2 games.
