Maybe if we all lay the gloves down for a minute, we could actually take a look at the videos of our 3 incoming studs. There are beacoup videos on line for all three, which you all can Google. D.J. Thorpe, Charles Smith IV, and Joel Brown. Don't listen to all the naysayers. These boys can ball, and will bring some new dimensions to Cal basketball: Unselfish guard play and slick passing from Joel Brown and Charles Smith, mid-range and farther scoring from Smith, and some very good looking post play with a variety of moves and shots from Thorpe. All three look to have more basketball maturity than I expected. If they are as good as the videos look, they could push the current starters, and probably all can start, providing they are not defensive liabilities.
The bad news for the roster is that McNeill is leaving, so we have a short bench once again, but we still have a couple of scholarships to give, if Davis leaves as well. It is late, but we have some time to get another big, which would be my choice. Can't have enough height.
