The problem with this hire (and JK apparently has no sense of history - and ditto some of the whale donors) is that Mark Fox's win percentage (58%) over his last 5 years is REMARKABLY similar to Ben Braun's (51%). In conference a bit better (Fox 54% - ; Ben 43%). Over that last 5 years - Ben - one NCAA, one NIT; Fox 1 NCAA; 3 NIT.

If the AD isn't going to have a fire storm on hand he HAS to be able to explain how this isn't Ben Braun redux.....that it is as if we simply took everything that Monty and Zo did and simply flush it and essentially tell people that when Sandy canned Ben it was a mistake because that is all we can aspire to.

Sure, fox is a "safe" choice. That doesn't at all make it the right one.

Fox is not a safe choice. People think that with these mediocre hires, but it isn't true. Walt Harris on the football side was a similarly safe choice for Stanford when they hired him. Ty Willingham was a similarly safe choice for Udub.

Is his record at Georgia what we aspire to? If not, what makes anyone think he will do better than that here?

Everyone would have got it if we hired DeCuire

Now we are back to explaining why Fox is a good hire. We didn't want or need to do that

It's not just about Xs and Os

We had a chance to change the narrative with players, recruits, fans, the media, etc

But we made a different decision
