It has always seemed to me that Cal should be more active in recruiting foreign players. We've landed a few of modest (or less) ability over the years but we should be capable of much better if we had an assistant with good connections overseas (a la Gonzaga's Tommy Lloyd). The Cal academic brand is strong internationally, there is a large community of international students here and the talent pool world wide is brimming. I'd like to see us get our share.

Hopefully the new staff is able to get a line on the contacts we made in China last year (another reason to retain David Grace). I read somewhere that there's a lot of people in that country!

Great idea!

If we do go International, I think Cal has to strictly enforce hairstyle rules with those players. Matt Haarms Waffen SS haircut intimidated me.
