So, UCLA is willing to pay a basketball coach $8 million a year and Cal struggles to pay $1 million a year. And then we wonder why we can't compete in the major sports.

Those guys are not terrible, but they're not great, either. Barely an upgrade over Alford.

I'm sure a lot of coaches UCLA thought would come because they are UCLA looked the other way. LA teams like to fire coaches mid-season thinking there are no repercussions. So they are down to two guys who might be viewed as retreads. Reminds me of another UC school.

I wouldn't go that far. Cronin, in particular, has a significantly better resume than Fox. But for UCLA, if that's the best guy they can get, they'll be disappointed.

UCLA does those things too

Only one of the two schools has a football stadium on campus. So we got that going for us...

gotta believe ucla goes after beard, and it would be hard to imagine him turning down that kinda money and team upgrade

there also aren't any big time schools with open coaching slots remaining

as for Bennett. Well he just won the NC, and I can't see him going anywhere. Also, although Bennett is an outstanding coach, I don't think his style of play would go over well with showtime
