Impressions of team?
They are a little bit wounded. It's been very hard for them.

He wants to be open and up front, find out from the team what the issues are and do what he can to help.

Schematics are different, everything likely to change. Brand new stuff for them to absorb.

Need to become more physical team, changing the weight program and training differently. 10 days with the new routines - very sore guys right now. (guessing this means a new strength and conditioning coach?)

Dealing with turnover?
He understands the hard times and adversity of last two years, and is supporting guys if they want to explore options via portal.

Expects to piece the roster together through May if needed.

Unfortunately transcripts aren't on the portal, so first look at intriguing transfer has to be if academic fit for Cal.

The more I listen to him speak, the more I like him. Calm, collected, no-nonsense, hard nosed.

But I'm not a 19 year old 3/4 star HS bball prospect.

I like that he's telling kids he understands and supports their desire to want to test the waters on opportunities given what they've been through (historically terrible last 2 seasons, fired HC, new program). He's also not placating them in order to convince them to stay (i.e. not desperate or insincere).

Look, I think he rightfully believes keeping on a player with 2-3 more years of eligibility left who are not going to be very good or positive contributors to the culture and development of this new program, he may as well get those schollies opened up and available for players whose development will coincide with the key years for Fox (3 and 4) and, in theory, be better than the guys departing.

Not so sure about that. The students (with few exceptions) don't give a damn about Cal basketball, as proven time and time again by the very poor attendance.

I was in Maine and streamed this using the app along with the 3 stoners on telegraph and the dude in sf. I tune in once and a while, mostly to get a kick out of the baseball announcing. We went to cal, should be able to figure this out
