We will need to compliment him with a PG who can shoot in the fall.

don't just think shooting.
joel can score off the bounce, athletic, and is a good defender who plays all out.

my hope is he can be a Remy Martin, who was also a ball handler, passer, but not a shooter. He was a contributor off the bench in year 1, and a starter in year 2, with a much improved shot

Dear Hoop: don't kid yourself--Remy could shoot. i don't think Brown can shoot as well as Remy.

I'm talking about Remy in HS

My point is Remy improved his shooting since HS

Brown can too

I don't understand, did he gather up a new MVP title or are we just posting videos from 2+ years ago?

Bring it JB, can't wait to see you on the Harmon floor.

So, a quick google search yields no mention of winning such a prestigious sounding award.

Seems like a big deal to me and a great indication of Joel's progress and potential.

Joel is taller than I thought. Isn't RJ Barrett like 6'7"?

Whoever said 'who did Grace ever land' can thank him for Joel. He would have landed him had he stayed and thankfully Joel didn't go with him. It's mind boggling Fox did not retain him when he was just starting to gain some momentum. Maybe we could also have landed the two grad transfers. Why not keep him not only because he's an ace recruiter, but he already has stuff set up for you that you could lose. Nope.

Because Grace got a better job offer as the associate head coach at Vandy.

Yes understood. I just got a sense that they didn't really go hard to keep him. I mean we all thought that Trent Johnson would be the associate head coach, turns out that's not his title. Why not just do it for Grace. And it's not like it's a gift -- dude is talented at what we lack, recruiting. Coaches do it for parents who bring along their 5* sons.

The problem was, they were reading BI and some people here were questioning his talents, even as a recruiter ("Who's HE ever brought here?!?"). Unfortunately, they didn't do enough of a "deep dive" to get a complete picture.

Er, seriously though, we were only going to retain one guy from the previous staff... and that HAD to be Marty Wilson, right?

Er, seriously though, Grace wasn't a "CSA guy" and Fox had a debt to repay.

Er, seriously though, this is a tough question to answer...

Yeah, he seems to be getting bigger to me. When he first popped up on our radar he looked skinny and maybe not his listed 6/2 height. Now he looks like 6'3 minimum and more filled out.

Yeah, you can still find him listed some places as "6'0 160 LBs" so he has definitely grown and filled out. If Fox can hold onto him I think we got a good get.
