Here's a list of all the players Cal has had who averaged a double-double for a season as far as I could determine:
Four players have done it twice:
Imhoff, 1959, 1960
Presley, 1968, 1969
Truitt, 1971, 1972
McNamara, 1981, 1982
The others are:

The best individual years were:
1982, McNamara 22 points, 12.6 rebounds
1968, Presley, 18.9 points, 14.3 rebounds
1972, Truitt, 18.8 points, 13.2 rebounds
The best year as a team was probably 1960, when Imhoff had 13.7 points and 12.4 rebounds, and McClintock barely missed at 12 points and 9.6 rebounds.
I think it is more difficult to average a double double now, with all the long caroms for long rebounds on three point misses and most teams taking and missing more threes than ever. The center still mops up around the basket, but the long rebounds are more often picked off by his teammates. The college game at 40 minutes is too short to get the other kind of double doubles, as only 6 players have ever averaged 10 assists, and maybe none have averaged 10 blocks or 10 steals, since 1985-86.
