Where is James Zhao?

James Zhao, who was on the roster last season, but did not play any games due to injury, apparently is no longer on the roster. I have been unable to find an announcement of any kind.

I had been looking forward to see him play even a scrimmage or exhibition game. He seemed to be an active team member, and he traveled to China with the team, reportedly helping a great deal as a guide and translator. Did he leave the team or did Fox cut him? Is he still in school? Did he transfer, or flunk out?

Word was, like with Theo, it wasn't WK's idea to have him be part of the team.

The question is: how much did Zhaos parents pay for him to be a member of the team?

Another possibility was that Zhao was forced upon WK by Williams, and, by extension the previous chancellor. if Theo was forced, why not Zhao??WK was in no position to say no to anything demanded by Williams, and, again, by extension the previous chancellor. After all, Zhao does reflect a very growing percentage of the student body, and, this may ( I repeat may) have been an effort to increase student attendance. Stranger things have happened.

EricBear was pretty clear that Zhao's time on the hoops team was always gonna be short term.

I doubt he was good enough for the Chinese National team (or he would have played for us), but the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo are nearly upon us.
