Seems likely. Cal will probably lose power on Tuesday. our business was down more than 48 hours when we lost power in early October. We have been down again this week and it looks like more than two days this time as well.

My guess, but the I prefer a traditional line ip with a big man who can defend the middle.

Maybe he goes with a three guard line up to start South. I just dont think Kelly should be at the 5

IMHO today's game requires at least 3 perimeter players who can score and defend away from the basket. I don't think Kelly or Anticevich fit those criteria, I don't know about Thorpe, Thiemann, or Kuany but I have my doubts.

I'm hoping Gordon or maybe Klonaras will be ready to play SF, if not I'd be comfortable with Bradley at SF with Austin, South, and Brown sharing the two guard spots.

Most coaches would start veterans in the first game. I don't think Lars starts for that reason. He is very young and still maturing. In film I saw, he did not look good defensively, and Fox is a defensive coach. I think Fox will try to bring him along as fast as he can, but he can't afford to have weak post defense in this league. You have some very athletic players in Kuany and Thorpe who might be able to defend or learn to do so, and Kelly has a year under his belt at the 5. Hopefully Thorpe has fully recovered from injury and ready to go, and I hope the same for Gordon.. A lot of players, including Anticevich, competing for the three front line positions. Enough so that Bradley does not have to play there, except in a small lineup for short periods of time only. He can shoot from three, but his drives often get stopped, and he has to make better decisions when driving. I like South coming off the bench, if he is capable of that role. It takes a special ability to be able to come in cold and hit your first shot and get the offense going. I hope Brown is good enough to push Austin to play smarter, which he needs to do, and if he is better than Austin on defense, maybe even get major minutes. Klonaras may be the most intriguing player for me. Good fundamentals and defense, and the size to play the 2 or 3. And JHD comes in for defense. Could be an interesting team. Cross that out. Will be an interesting team.

If I had to guess the starting lineup, I would say Austin, South, Bradley, Kelly and Thiemann, although I'm much less confindent in Kelly starting than the other four. Could be Anticevich, Thorpe, maybe Gordon.

The fun part is that I would imagine with this being an exhibition, everyone should get at least some run, as I am sure Fox is very interested to find out how all of his guys respond to live competition. So we should get some good glimpses of what the new guys are like.

Why would you start Dyson ?Cant shoot( even layups last year) and defense was not good. Also cant make free throws. He played much better as a freshman. Maybe the hand really effected him. No one took him when he was in the transfer portal.

Back to the original topic, any news about whether power outages might affect the playing of tonight's game?

The new center is 7 feet tall. According to Fox he is still adjustingbto us play but is quite a force inside. May not start. The players like having this new option.

I called ATO. They have power and the game is on.

As for the starting lineup, it's a real mystery. Coach Fox said that everyone is new to his system, so the starters could be the ones who are picking it up quickest, regardless of their overall ability or experience.
