Conference wins matter for NCAA berths (and the big money that comes from them).
Looking at the quality of conference wins (kenpom rankings), I declare Cal to be third in the conference right now.

Oregon beat #108 Fresno St.
Utah got a win vs. #109 Nevada.
Cal beat #117 Pepperdine.
Oregon State beat #185 CSU Northridge.
Stanford beat #186 Montana.
UCLA beat #293 Long Beach (UCLA trailed by 4 with 4 minutes to go).
Arizona beat #310 Northern Arizona.
USC beat #342 Florida A&M.

The undefeated streak will likely come to an end tomorrow night when #47 Washington plays #11 Baylor in Anchorage.
It's all just entertainment, so find a way to enjoy it.
The refs are there to feed your hatred addiction and keep the games close.

You never know. Doesn't UW have an elite freshman class?

Strong recruiting classes usually work against the Pac-12. Washington, Oregon, UCLA and Arizona tend to lose some non-conference games while the freshman adjust to the college game, bringing down average ratings. Then, when the conference season starts the stud freshmen are ready to dominate less athletic players from the other schools.

One nitpick: Utah won at Nevada, not Wisconsin. Still a solid win given that Nevada has been good lately. I think it was St. Mary's that beat Wisconsin.

You are correct. St. Mary's went to OT Tuesday night and beat Wisconsin by 2 on a neutral floor. Wisconsin is not what it once was, but still a good win for the Gaels.

Also I think some of the Pac-12 MBB games being talked about, Baylor v UW, ASU v CU are tomorrow, Pacific time Fri. Nov. 8th.

Tonight (Thu. Nov. 7th), the only Pac-12 MBB game is kenpom #132 Seattle at Washington State, and the Cougs are rolling. Elleby with 24 points already, 11-14 from the field.

Pac-12 teams have being going to China for games for a few years now. Remember Lonzo's big adventure? We played a game there too.

I don't think this ASU vs. Colorado will count in the conference standings.

I was at the Utah game. Utah won because Nevada's second best player went out after 8 minutes with an injury and Utah brought Pac 12 refs. Almost all the Nevada players were in foul trouble, and Utah made 22 FTs and Nevada 7. Pac 12 BB is the equivalent of flag football. The refs allow no physical contact and call every ticky tack foul. I had floor seats at Cal for the last 4 years so I saw it up close. The refs decide who wins many games, not the players. The Pac 12 NC games so far mean absolutely nothing. There is not a team even close to getting ranked. Wait until they play the better teams from the Big 10, SEC or ACC. If they even scheduled any.

It wasn't Lonzo who had problems in China, it was LiAngelo who got caught shoplifting...

Thanks for the info.

Also, to make sure you didn't misinterpret my intent, if you read my posts, I wasn't trying to make any statement or inference about Pac-12 teams being successful OOC or not. Just listing game results so far and making one correction where R90 had Utah beating Wisky instead of Nevada.

U$C won tonight 76-65 over Portland

The Pac 12 way destined to have a loss tonight since ASU was playing COLORADO ... somebody had to lose. Don't know why two Pac teams are playing each other so early (tournament?) ....

Either way, the Pac is not losing a bunch of no name non conference games .... so far

Of course it's not going to last and I see some losses coming, possibly even today (or not). But the Pac-12 as of Sunday Nov. 10th mid-day is 15-0 OOC unless I am missing something? Or 16-1 if you count the ASU-Colorado game as OOC.

16-0 after UCLA beats UCSB.

17-0 now after Zona rolls Illinois. Not that I'm happy to see how good the Cats' freshmen look... yikes.

I said a couple years ago that Lorenzo Ball would be the next Jason Kidd. Not!

Now I say that Nico Mannion will be the next Jason Kidd. We will see.

Interesting note that Ira Lee is back to being a role player, even as a junior, and J Baker is playing about 15 minutes/game, but not having much of a scoring impact (it's early)

For UCLA, O'Neal played 6 minutes in their first game, and none in their second game. Probably not 100% healthy and conditioned yet

I'd also watch out for OSU, with a senior Tres Tinkle, the younger Thompson, and their 7 foot shot blocker, plus Utah who scored almost 150 pts in their first game
