UNLV had 4 guys playing 40+ minutes last night, and they wore down. We had much better energy late in regulation and in overtime.

Plenty of depth this season, and we haven't played Thorpe, Kuany or Erving.
It's all just entertainment, so find a way to enjoy it.
The refs are there to feed your hatred addiction and keep the games close.

It is pretty amazing with the short time Fox and staff have had to recruit, coming off two historically awful seasons, and players looking to abandon ship, it feels like we have some depth. And I would suspect that Kuany and DJ won't be slouches either. Things are looking up.

I really feel like Fox was able to gain momentum because of two kids keeping their commitment -- Matt Bradley and Joel Brown. That stabilized the free fall.

A good coach makes his players better. Cal was going to improve over recent years even if Fox only had walk-ons: Fox knows how to coach and make his players better. One doesn't need great recruits to be respectable. Cal has had plenty of talent to win more than 8 games with a good coach. Finally, Cal has a good coach and the wins will reflect that quality. More talent will follow. By the way, does Evansville have nearly the talent of Kentucky?

On the radio postgame show, Fox said they knew they'd have trouble scoring inside against the UNLV center, so they planned on getting their points in other ways.

Kuany has worn a brace on his knee and has been in street clothes the first two games. I believe he is expected to be back in uniform next Monday against Prairie View.

Thorpe has been sporting a soft knee support which doesn't appear to hinder his play, but I believe he hasn't earned court time and is behind Lars, Andre, Grant and Jacobi for front court minutes.

I also think that DJ missing most of last year with torn ankle ligaments may be a factor. Fellow recruit Klonaras also suffered an injury in late summer and he has played just 3 minutes so far in the first two games.

I have to say Mr. South from the North was a huge find. He already looks to be better than our last grad transfer Mullins, and Mullins was terrific.
