He can't play 40 minutes every game for 30+ games.bearchamp said:
We may be fine with Joel. Much can happen between now and the next season (2022?).
Agreed - I just hope we have that card up our sleave. Matt sliding to PG doesn't sound bueno.TheSouseFamily said:
We still badly need to find a backup PG but this guy wasn't it. I'm extremely relieved. Nothing about this guy suggested he could contribute at a high major level. This was a major reach that I feared would backfire on us. And his rationale for making a decision suggests pretty clearly he wasn't a Cal guy. This was the least enthused I've been about a recruit in a while.
I understand the sentiment but remember that he and his family and friends read this site and others. As do current recruits and their family and friends.TheSouseFamily said:

While I COMPLETELY appreciate that point of view (and often agree with it) I would also point out that as Cal fans we are pretty tame. You should read the sites of blue blood programs when they are not chosen. It is not pretty.NathanAllen said:I understand the sentiment but remember that he and his family and friends read this site and others. Oh I'm very aware of the vitriol that is college fandom. A recent example is how Michigan fans reacted to Josh Christopher's announcement of committing to Arizona State. But is that the standard we're comparing this community to? I agree these message boards stay (mostly) tame. Just using this as a moment to remind everyone these are college kids and the commenters are (mainly) grown adults with anonymity.socaltownie said:While I COMPLETELY appreciate that point of view (and often agree with it) I would also point out that as Cal fans we are pretty tame. Fair enough and point well taken.NathanAllen said:Oh I'm very aware of the vitriol that is college fandom. Moving on, Drew Buggs is the real deal. High basketball IQ.socaltownie said:Fair enough and point well taken.NathanAllen said:Oh I'm very aware of the vitriol that is college fandom. Please clearly explain what issue you had with Souse's post. Because it isn't clear to me. The day a poster can't give an educated opinion about a recruit is the day I'll no longer participate on these boards. Souse did not cross a line and didn't deserve to be scolded.
Also, aren't you pretty new around here? I don't recall you being around more than the last 18 months or so. Did you ever provide an introduction / bio? What's your connection to Cal?

So what. I don't really care what some bench warmer for Buffalo thinks about what's written here. I'm just glad he's not warming our bench.NathanAllen said:I understand the sentiment but remember that he and his family and friends read this site and others.
