The NCAA approved a deal Wednesday to start the college basketball season, a source confirmed to The Athletic, with the first games scheduled for Nov. 25.
The confirmed start date is 15 days later than the originally planned date of Nov. 10 and was negotiated as part of the overall deal to commence the season that was, according to a source, approved by the Division I Council.
Additional details of the agreement include a maximum number of games one team could play would be 27, while the minimum is set at 13. Furthermore, no exhibition games or closed scrimmages will be allowed prior to Nov. 25.
