The UNC slap on the wrist was the classic: since all UNC students had access to the academically fraudulent classes in the African and Afro-American Studies dept, athletes weren't getting a special privilege so it was therefore not a violation: https://www.nytimescom/2017/10/13/sports/unc-north-carolina-ncaa.html.

Maybe Zona will claim that bribes were actually emergency financial aid that any student could apply for.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the NCAA to give anything more than a slap on the wrist to Sean Miller or Bill Self.

NCAA enforcement is such a sham.

No wonder USC was pissed when the hammer came down hard on them for football. They were thinking look at all the other blatant cheaters, why are we being singled out?

Arizona should get a very severe punishment, full stop. Unfortunately the NCAA will determine otherwise.

Other evidence from the federal trials could have been part of the NCAA's investigation, too. The father of five-star recruit Brian "Tugs" Bowen testified that Dawkins told him then-UA associate head coach Joe Pasternack offered $50,000 for his son to play at Arizona in 2017-18.

However, Miller could face stiff penalties given the actions of others that were on his staff. In a Yahoo report from 2019 via Wildcat Authority, there were documents that showed Dawkins was in contact with former Arizona assistant Joe Pasternack.

"In documents viewed by Yahoo Sports in February 2018, Dawkins was also in frequent contact with then-Arizona assistant Joe Pasternack, who is now the head coach at UC Santa Barbara, to broker deals to recruit players from Arizona to his agency," Yahoo's Pete Thamel, Pat Forde and Dan Wetzel wrote. "Dawkins wrote at one point to a colleague: 'Joe told me verbatim he will help us get all the Arizona players, so put his feet to the fire.'"

So would the kicker also get sanctions?

Might be good that he never got the Cal job, despite the big donor's wishes.

Good. Section 8 did not have his back. Old Braun era reference. They were a bit obsessed with Donte Smith as I recall.

The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they gave Cleveland State two more years of probation.
