I think we would want to play as many non conference games as possible so there be a game on the first eligible night.

Looks like Thanksgiving in Corvallis for the Bears. Colorado State on Wednesday night and NAIA Northwest University of Kirkland, WA on Turkey Day.

What possible reason why are we playing in Corvallis, of all places. Is this some kind of tournament?
Go Bears!

Uhh... pandemic? I got nothin'. I'd suggest tuning in to pregame on radio and all will be revealed. Maybe.

It's a little strange how for football, the P12 declared the MWC as not up to snuff covid protocol wise (likely due to lack of funding causing less frequent testing), but when it comes to basketball, games against the MWC and even lower divisions are OK? Basketball is way more problematic because it's indoors.

*Shrug*

Maybe something to do with the lower numbers involved in hoops?

Nothing you wrote makes any sense at all. Please keep your insane blatherings on OT Board.

Bears aren't playing Oregon State next week. But don't let facts get in the way - you never do.

No comprendo. Where is htp's post that you are replying to? Didn't know htp had a son. Confusing.

I don't understand what the conference and many of its teams are thinking at all in filling out their schedules. On the football side, they start late and catch COVID in full rise rather than playing an abbreviated all-conference schedule over two months beginning in September and avoiding the upswing in respiratory infection season altogether.

Also, looking at the Cal MBB schedule, I see a Christmas week game in Boston against BC. That will require 5-6 hours of travel time in a sealed tube right in the heart of respiratory infection season, going and coming and an additional couple of hours of down time in high-traffic airports during holiday times.

I'm not a COVID catastrophist like many I know and am very aware the disease has a low impact on 18-22 year olds, but if you have any consideration for older members of the coaching staffs who travel with these teams and care about quality of play and not having your teams decimated through 45,000 cycle testing that finds positives galore, infectious or not, you don't schedule like this. It's like the conference and its individual teams are getting no common sense advice at all from their medical staffs, assuming any medical personnel are getting consulted at all. It's freaking unbelievable.

Looks like it was removed. No need to repeat it.
