Does this team (or even Fox's first team ) have the physical build of a competitive D1 team? Absolutely not. Go look at ASU over on ESPN. Their dudes LOOK the part.

And then there's the recruiting...

Right now we'll take anything besides sitting our arses in a pandemic. But yah we don't look too good right now. We obviously have to compete by playing half court, high IQ and someone other than Bradley going off.

This is Hurley's *sixth* season coaching ASU, it's only Fox's second season at Cal, and Hurley didn't inherit a dumpster fire like Fox did.

Too conservative force it to Lars offense. Kelly should start with Thorpe as back up.lars is no better and not a D1 player. He killed us. No rebounds, no put backs and bad hands.

Yeah, unfair comparison. Hurley's going to be able to bring players to ASU that we will never get. Fox, who I was not enamored with when he was hired, has improved our play and has shown that he can coach. The recruiting is improving. Let's give the guy a chance.

71-63 final. We sort of hung with them the whole game, but never got a big run going. Well, Cal was picked to finish 10th in the media poll, so... Unfortunately, the Beavs were picked to finish 12th.

We still lack a consistent scorer behind Bradley and even in game 1, Bradley sensed that and started doing too much 1-on-1. I know Anticevich is a nice, hard-working player, but he played 35 minutes and scored 4 points. He was not an offensive threat. He missed all four 3-point attempts. Brown took 2 shots in 30 minutes. Kelly needs to play more minutes. But this is team seems like it's going to struggle to score all season. The same problem as last season.

He is not a one dimensional player.....Speed, slashes, boards beautifully, shoots well, moves well...He will be fine.
