If cal plays hard and battles Pepperdine to the finish, the season can be salvaged. If Fox and Bradley can't co-exist, the AD will have to consult his Rolodex again....( not that he has one)

I'm not sure Pepperdine is the end-all be-all game for this season, but we have to see whether the Bradley-Fox relationship goes south (I really hope not). Looks like Romar has recruited some athletic/dynamic players which is what he's good at. They look different from the one we beat last season.

Pepperdine lost by 9 to fucla in three overtimes. They have a lot of big men but only one usually scores more than 3 points a game. Against San Diego Stinkin State KesslerEdwards 6'8, made his first five threes and scored 22 points. A grad transfer from Pitt at 6'9 actually scored 12.

We will have our hands full.we need Bradley to make foul shots and shoot a better percentage from three . Its discouraging that we don't have one really good big man., we need rebounding. If Thorpe is healthy, I am hopeful he may get some time because nobody else is doing it.

Consensus amongst friends is that BC might be our best chance for a win.

Betley almost as many as Grant and almost as many as Lars and Bradley.

If player development is Fox's calling card, he's got his hands full with the Bears' stable of bigs.

Make or break game. Win, lose or draw, Cal must play well and hard..Bradley must play well and hard..harbinger for the future game. The AD does not want to consult his non-existent rolodex, ( his background is not basketball----or football for that matter) but you must be prepared in order to remain competitive ( at least in theory).

Pepperdine guard Jade Smith is from St. Joe's really liked Cal and had interest from Cal and came on a recruiting visit but never got an offer. He redshirted last year so could be a grad transfer next year (assuming he could get into a Cal grad program).

Several family members (especially of my grandfather's generation) went to Pepperdine or got their law degrees there.

Originally Pepperdine was located in Vermont Knolls, due south of the USC campus around 79th and Vermont just west of the Harbor Freeway (110). In 1972 Pepperdine moved its main campus to Malibu on land donated by wealthy alums. USC almost moved to what became UC Irvine close to its many wealthy Newport Beach alums, but stayed in LA which has been good for the City and County.
