Fox said in the pregame interview that Kelly's shooting 55% and they need to do a better job getting him the ball.

They have to get a hand in the face of Stevenson. He's only averaging 3.8 ppg but already has 12, including two 3's. One of the few gripes today so far.

Kelly has really been showing improvement and refinement of his game this season. I see him being a beast next year

Bears getting sloppy on both ends and just have up back-to-back 3's again to Stevenson. He's the one guy who's hurting you on the floor. You don't give him open looks, period. UW leads 59-57 with 9 left.

Enjoyable game. Both teams played hard to keep out of the cellar. UW seems to have enough talented players and Hopkins was P12 COY his first two seasons. Last season they had some tough injuries - but they seem to be even worse than Cal is.

They had no one to stop kelly. Some teams have better defense. Colorado is likely to be a bigger challenge.

In the past three years under Mike Hopkins, UW has ranked 1st or 2nd defensively in points allowed, FG%, 3pt FG%, blocks and steals. This coach and his specific zone defense has been very good since he came from Syracuse.
So no, there aren't many teams with consistently better defenses....they are having a difficult year but he's been COY twice already.
Credit to Fox for coming up with a game plan that attacked the zone effectively.

I'm in a state of denial about my forgetfulness. We need to try an experiment: Have Cal put a consistently-winning team on the court and then see if I remember that a game is scheduled. Maybe I will suggest this great idea to Coach Fox!
