Aari McDonald has been appointed as Director of Recruiting Operations at Arizona, a position she will hold concurrently with her play for the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA. Coach Barnes continues to evolve a program model that is as close to a professional program model as possible. I think that she would really like to become a WNBA farm team with college degrees optional.

This is interesting ...

First, one of the major initial moves Adia Barnes made at Arizona was stealing McDonald from Washington. So Barnes "owes" McDonald, though I doubt that had much, if anything, to do with this hire.

Second, recruiting is a summertime activity, and McDonald plays in the schedule-challenged WNBA, which is adding four games next season. It's hard to see where she would have any time, even to watch film of summer games, during the Atlanta Dream season.
