Had a chance to look up Lulu's stats playing for Australia in seven games in last year's U17 World Championship Tournament. There was good news and bad news,

Good news: 8.6 ppg and 4.6 rpg
Bad news: 22% on three-point shots, and 5 assists vs 19 TO's.

The "good news" about the bad news is that both of those can be improved with coaching and practice.

Lulu was 5th on the team in minutes, meaning she was a valuable contributor.

Her 55% on 2-point shots was 3rd best on the team, after one player who took 11 shots and another who took 1.

She led the team in steals while averaging the 2nd fewest fouls per minute (of those who played more than a few minutes).

She made just 7 of 16 free throws. That's a small sample and/or needs to be fixed.

Getting players who don't need fixing would be a better strategy, especially at the guard position.

Lulu's numbers have turned around a lot playing against older players in Australia, including Penina Davidson.

There are 18-year-old athletes who don't need at least a little fixing?

I'm in my 70s, not exactly an athlete, and need a lot of fixing.

Will have to wait and see. These are stats from a semi-pro Australian club team league. The other stats were from the U-17 World Championships.

All need fixing, you are right. It's the beauty of college sports. Latest case in point for Cal is Jaylen Brown-zero people on message boards thought, when he was 18, that he would be 2nd team All Pro some day....
