The 5'9 point guard who plays for Sierra Canyon School in Southern California is #94 on HoopGurlz Top 100.

Besides Cal, her offer list also includes Arkansas, Arizona, Gonzaga, Louisville, Oregon, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Purdue and St. Mary's.

Arenas visited Louisville over the weekend. Not sure if she's put out a finalist list.

6'2" F/C Janessa Cotton from Mater Dei and Cal Sparks (#100 ranking ESPN) had a big summer and no longer considering Cal whom offered her a bit earlier on in her development. Her final 5 are L'Ville, Duke, Wash State, Kentucky, Michigan.

That gives us 5 + possibly Arenas top 25-100 players we are still in the running for from 24.

Seems like it'll be the transfer portal and looking internationally again until Smith shows improvement this year.

The information on Arenas came from Raoul's WBB blog earlier today and showed no finalists. Most of her offers were received in June 2023 (when we offered; likewise Louisville) which seems late for a 2024 prospect.

yes the 5 all listed Cal on their latest finalist list, while Arenas has not listed finalists so unsure if still in the mix but aware that we offered.

I agree. in prior years, we'd hope for a much stronger and/or bigger fall class, but I would honestly be thrilled if we even just got one of the aforementioned 5-6 top 100 players, given that transfer season seems to be just as impactful to roster talents as fall signings, and lately for us even more impactful. Then Cal also seems to be look internationally more than other schools which often unfolds later
