This event appears to be targeting students, or at least I hope it is. For all that WBB fans are supposed to bring a friend, etc., etc., I haven't been impressed by Cal Athletics's efforts to attract students to games. (And, yes, I know that a winning season is the best draw, but we have to start somewhere. Free food is usually attractive to young folk, as I recall.)

Anyway, although I am not a student, I'll go. Anyone else?

I'm about 55 years past my student days but I plan to be there.

Although the idea of 7 p.m. as a late night for students makes me giggle. Our elder daughter never went anywhere before 9 p.m. for social events.

Who else is going to this wild and edgy event? I hope more than 100 students show up; after all, free food and stuff. https://calbears.com/news/2023/10/12/mens-basketball-cal-to-host-late-night-at-haas.aspx

Here are the Late Night at Haas women's hoops intros:

There was a 3 point shooting contest between Ioanna and Kemery that Kemery won 13-12.

Krimili looks to have some grit.

I thought this exhibition was downright weird. Spectators were restricted to a few sections on the east side so some people had to sit pretty close to the rafters. The main lights were off the entire time, making it hard for spectators and presumably also for the athletes. Too much amplified noise and too little Straw Hat Band. No flow to the program. After some gymnastics warmups and some 3-point shooting it degenerated into chaos.

On the good side Charmin did her best to get the crowd involved, Oski and one of the cheerleaders showed some moves, and Devin Curtis on our men's team was rocking a pair of shades in the dark.

Yeah, it was kind of dumb, and ridiculously loud without being especially interesting or dramatic. Nice to see Charmin and the team, though.

Cal marketing.
This was very weak and poorly coordinated.

Did our Athletic Director show up? Wouldn't want to cut into his nap time.

Tonight you could take the expression "lights out shooting" literally.

BTW Jalen Cone probably hit more than Kemery and Rodney Brown certainly hit far fewer.

I wish someone would have recorded the women's gymnastics team. They've been ranked between #4 to #7 in the nation over the last three seasons. The team is loaded this year and should make the final four (if healthy)!

GO BEARS!

They didn't do much. One group did fractional (a few seconds) balance beam routines and another group did vaults using only a springboard. These were simultaneous so it was difficult to watch both.

IMHO the highlight was one gymnast hitting a half-court basketball shot.

He hit 14 of 19. Kemery hit 13 in @22 shots. Great shooting for her and Ioanna and especially by Jalen.
