In case anyone cares I couldn't find a White Horse Inn menu. I did find it's the oldest gay bar in the nation:

In the nation?! That's incredible. I lived near here previously and had no idea.

I suppose the oldest gay bar in the nation has to be somewhere - why not here?

BTW I lived just around the corner from where Patty Hearst was kidnapped and I slept through the the whole thing. Didn't find out until I saw the news the next morning.

Not news to me. Haven't been there in many years, but it's a low-key (clearly) place to gather. Everyone welcome, particularly women's basketball fans. I assume it was scheduled there to encourage new fans to come to games to leverage the growing interest in wbb. People complain about lack of attendance and this is part of outreach. Good!

Coach Charmin and Coach Gottleib actively are trying/tried to get more fans to attend games

They have tried many different things including this year where they went to the Bears Lair camp, both for the team to enjoy and bond and to connect with hopefully new fans to support the team

At the end of games, Charmin often takes the mic, thanks fans, and pleads them to return "and bring a friend "

My father built those apartments. He remembered telling the owner that the kind of front door locks he wanted weren't that secure but the guy ignored him.

As per Instagram, Charmin's appearance at the White Horse last night was the launching of the Bears' Basketball on Tap series.

Innovative marketing/messaging.

I'd expect to see Coach Smith at other local neighborhood bars in the coming weeks reaching out to potential fans and ticket buyers before the season starts. Hopefully, they'll give us sufficient prior notice of these appearances so current fans can join her and help spread the word about Cal WBB. With such notice, I would have attended last night.

Go Bears!!!

Not just any friend, a "freaking" friend!

I've made an inquiry about this as well as when and where the next one will be.

Update: I've heard back from Cal WBB today. This event was not recorded.

"But something we can keep in mind as an option for the future as we work on growing this event".

"We will have other events like this, but we do not have the next date or location selected yet".
