Clay has put together a nice group in the platinum division in the Jmboree.

Fairmont will be there with Adrya Rajan. We are also recruiting two from Oakland Tech. One of them is Jhai Johnson who scored 42 points with 22 rebounds and 5 blocks last game. Saw her last year and she is good. She is 6'1" tall. Has a 6'3" team mate we are recruiting too. Don't remember her name.

When I watched Oakland Tech play last year they had girl (the better one who was 6'1") and a defintely taller girl who was 6'3" tall. Don't remember their names and I didn't keep the program. Also saw Folsome playMafua who is now on the team and a good looking freshman who is now being recruited by Cal. can't remember her name either. When you get my age you forget a lot of names.

Oakland Tech plays Mater Dei at 7:00pm at Dublin High School. We know which recruit to watch. Platinum division

Fairmount Prep plays Salesian at 5:00pm at Carondolet High. We know who to watch there.

Nice to have recruits who like us instead of giving us the finger like Mitty does.

I watched Mater Dei play Mitty last Friday night and they held McKenna Wolizcko to 3 points at halftime. They are rated 3rd in CA and 9th nationally. MD has at least three Div I players in their starting lineup [(#3 SG, 6-2 post (#35) & #5 PG]

Per the SF Chronicle, Cal has offered Archbishop Mitty freshman 6-2 forward, Maliya Hunter. (Class of 2028)

Odds on us landing the Tech kids, especially now that we are a Top 20 program this year?

Two Top 50 kids from our backyard... have to land them.

The odds are better than they used to be ...

But some teens would prefer to put a little distance between home and college, so the local angle doesn't always work.

And to beat my drum again, the inferior facilities at Cal are a constant issue.

What specifically are you referring to?

Locker room? Arena? Practice facility? Weight room? Lounge? Other?

And you know this how?

Charmin is well aware of the locker room issue and is currently fund-raising. Perhaps you can put down those drumsticks and pledge some money towards the goal.

Practice facility, primarily, but Haas is not as attractive as most arenas for competing schools.

And yes, money is being raised, but this year's recruits might see a practice facility when they're seniors -- if everything went perfectly.

Don't know why people don't see this as an issue. It matters to players, especially those who want to spend a lot of time working on their game.

(As for donating, remember my career was in journalism. Writing, not selling ads or being an executive. Fun job, but nobody did it for the money.)

There is a problem on the board with multiple posts being generated from a single post. I have had the same problem on the football board. Maybe try not to assume the worst about other posters.

Pointing out an issue now means one has to donate enough money to solve the problem and also is arrogant?

Mmmmkay.

72, clay is not being arrogant, he's giving accurate insights into the minds of high target hs recruits that he actually knows like sabrina ionesco...clay's buddy kelly sopak is a self serving piece of **** with zero ethics but having toured oregon's basketball practice facility it's absolutely amazing

jim knowlton has pathologically lied to the cal community for years that the basketball practice is gonna have shovels in the ground soon, that's 100% bs & there's no funds actually raised & it's not even listed on the campus listing of proposed projects

knowlton is the one who hired an unqualified, non innovative & work ethic challenged markeisha everrett to 100% mismanage the marketing/branding/selling tixs to cal's women's basketball which has resulted in sparse gameday crowds for a nationally ranked team in the wbb starved bay area

chancellor lyons is enabling knowlton to mismanage cal athletics, the end game is this is declining attendance/donor donations for the revenue sports & a catastrophic financial tsunami heading towards berkeley that will not have Builders of Berkeley bail out funding and then will threaten berkeley's worldwide reputation

lyons sleeping on pride rock#

I just had the same problem after I got an error message. All I could do was delete the content in the duplicate, I don't know how to remove it.

I view his comments as pretty realistic and in no way arrogant. This is the current environment we are facing in the era of NIL.

Nope. You missed the whole context. Poster has pointed out issues (practice facility, locker room) countless times (thus the beating the drum reference).

I merely suggested contributing to Charmin's fund-raising efforts for an updated locker room for Cal WBB.

The practice facility is beyond her control and involves MBB as well. Perhaps women's gymnastics too. Are you listening, AD Knowlton??

Sidebar: Apologies to Clay. I didn't realize there was an issue with multiple posts on this site. I thought he did it for emphasis.

No worries ...

I just think it's important to note that Cal basketball is always facing an uphill battle with recruits who are dazzled with shiny objects. That doesn't mean recruiting battles will always be lost, but the playing field is not level.
Shocky1

72, a renovated locker room is not gonna significantly impact recruiting & a new basketball practice facility is never gonna be built as long as knowlton is athletic director despite him pathologically lying about its imminence in breaking ground for years

wnba level hoopers want access to a state of the art practice facility 24/7/365, haas pavilion is shared by multiple sports & the gold gym also has shared scheduling conflicts too
