The first time the Bears swept the Tree in almost 40 years.
I was a junior at Cal and months away from meeting Mrs. MoragaBear who ended up transferring from UW to Cal after a successful official visit after the summer we met

Livestats does not say - it too cuts out at 4 seconds - but it looks like Clardy got the final shot guarded by Twidale?

and was that Donez on Agara denying her the final shot?

Was at the game. That was some egregiously bad officiating. Never should've been that close.

This video makes it look like the shot was not close -

That shot wasn't in the same zip code as the basket. But they got like three chances at it in the last 10 seconds. None of them were good.

But I've seen MMA fights that involved less physical contact. Feel like the refs just lost control when Michelle got punched in the face right in the front of a ref who just looked at the punch and didn't do a thing. From that point on it was just game on. Stanford felt like they could get away with anything and they did. On the other side we got called for defensive fouls under the basket that were mind boggling. Second to last one (I think) involved Stanford completely initiating the contact, backing into the Cal player (who was backing away) not even looking at the basket and heaving the ball (backwards) and drawing the foul. Completely insane.

Was that the call on Suarez who had her hands way high and over the Furd? Suarez didn't swipe at the ball or player but got called anyway.

All these year, I've NEVER seen Cal sweep Stanford.

Was there a disparity in FTs? Yes. Who cares!

Did it get too close at the end? Yes. Who cares!

Was it perfect? No. Who cares!

Cal just swept Stanford in WBB!

Savor it!

The video showing the last few seconds and the Bear fans going all 'Bear Territory'?

I'm loving it!

was there as well. Several missed calls (unintentional contact, to the FACE?). Also thought the Furd played a bit thuggishly from 3rd qtr on. But, a win's a win. I'll savor it

I know we can question many of the calls forever. My issue was, when Ijiwoye (#6), bulldozed Jayda on the missed foul shot, in addition to the foul she should have been ejected. I know basketball is physical, but the whole intention of that play was over the line. She approached it like a lineman in football or a freakin' roller derby player.

whoops, just noticed that it was her fifth foul anyway. Still, it was a bush league move.

Stanford clearly recognized they were getting away with a lot (while Cal was being penalized for the slightest contact) and ramped things up even more in the fourth quarter. The officiating eventually had to acknowledge the excessive fouling when A PLAYER HAD TO BE SENT TO THE LOCKER ROOMS DUE TO INJURY, though the elbow to the face remains a glaring blemish on the referees' performance.

I'm now up $2 on Kate Paye's brother, $1 for each win.
What should I spend it on?

Love the season sweep!
Hopefully we can learn how to play better against defensive pressure so we can go far in the tourney. To me, that is the biggest shortcoming of this team, and in the tourney, defensive pressure will be intense in every game.

I know Charmin seemed to indicate good news about Jayda Noble in the press conference, but I'm just wondering if there has been any more updates?

My kids and I drove down (would have loved to do the bus but couldn't leave the east bay that early), and loved every second of it ... even the white knuckle 4th quarter was still enjoyable with other Cal fans, and the final score.

I parked on campus at an EV charging spot that was free charging after 8 pm ... almost feels like I got paid by Stanford to park to watch us beat 'em!

There were many bad calls but I thought worst was on a screen by Ackerman (?) when Card defender plows into her. Ackerman completely set. All contact initiated by Card and they get the call.
