Couldn't find recent discussion about whether shooters are born or could be trained

I said elite shooters are born (and refined by training ... Steph wouldn't be Steph without all the work he puts in) but a poor or average talented shooter can be significantly improved with training and tons of reps

I gave an example of a good baseball player being able to shoot and make baskets with zero basketball experience and terrible form

Here is a good example: hitting these targets from this distance with no warm up ain't easy and she did this with drunk goggles on

I would definitely agree. There's talent and there's skill development.

This year, I had six freshmen on JV and all were given the green light to shoot threes whenever open. All had some minor adjustments made to their mechanics. We shoot threes a lot in every practice (and we go six days a week).

Of the six, one really took off, making logo threes. The others got better, but none as much as the girl who just had the feel -- and of the other five, some improved more than the rest. Part of that might have been work outside practice, but I think inborn talent plays a big role.
