Not to be superstitious, but I wish you hadn't brought it up.

If this happens, it will be the final crushing blow to my Cal fandom. Jaydyn, Jet, Wilkinson, Andrej, even Marta I can all deal with. But Lulu? NO!

Ah. I thought immediate player status happened first.
Oops, I didn't read your question correctly concerning timing.

From 2021 athletes could transfer one time without sitting out a year, from 2024 any number of times.

From 2021 NIL has been permitted.

IMHO money has made a much bigger difference than lifting transfer restrictions. The latter at least affected all schools equally.

We signed her late (last August). She plays in 24 games for the Bears. Her minutes are quite likely to increase this next season with a starting role a possibility.

So, why transfer now?

Unless she sees the Bears recruiting over her in the portal. Hmmmm.

How can you say that after less than 2 weeks on the job?

I don't think we targeted Jones, but Barker perhaps. It seems Barker wanted to go back to the SEC after starting her college career at Texas A&M.

I still think we have a good shot at getting some players who can help this team next season. For all we know, there could be some silent commits. We have to wait until they announce their intentions. As I mentioned previously, Noble and Williams committed in late April and early May, respectively last year.
