Claudia and Natalia are both now showing up in the '25-'26 roster. Are they both really coming back?

On the official site, that's " '24-'25 "....

You can change the roster year on the Calbears site to 25-26. But the revised roster still does not include all of the new portal players and freshmen, so hard to draw any conclusions.

I didn't do that, but realize that they are still there, so interesting... like you said though, who knows lol

Where are you seeing that about Natalia? Claudia is coming back.

As far as I can tell, Natalia is still in the portal (as per Raoul's WBBlog).

The team website has a default roster page that is pretty clearly 2024-25, but you can use the pull down feature to select the 2025-26 roster.

It's pretty incomplete, and possibly incorrect. Right now it says

Lola Donez
Lulu Twidale
Gisella Maul
Claudia Langarita
Anastasia Drosouni
Gabrielle Abigor
Natalia Ackerman
Sakima Walker
Sofia Bowes

Not sure why it includes Sakima Walker and not the other incoming transfers, Naya Ojukwu and Mjracle Sheppard. Also, no incoming freshmen are listed.

Assuming that Natalia Ackerman hasn't decided anything yet and remains in the transfer portal, here is the current 2025-26 roster.

Last year of eligibility

6-4 forward Claudia Langarita (9.8 minutes per game during 2024-25 season)
6-5 center Sakima Walker (5.6 mpg at South Carolina)

2 years of eligibility

5-11 guard Gisella Maul (7.8 mpg)
5-10 guard Lulu Twidale (31.4 mpg)
5-10 guard Mjracle Sheppard (12.5 mpg at LSU)

3 years of eligibility

6-3 center Gabrielle Abigor (8.1 mpg)
5-10 guard Sofia Bowes (1.4 mpg)
5-11 guard Lola Donez (11.0 mpg)
5-11 guard Anastasia Drosouni (7.7 mpg)
6-1 forward Naya Ojukwu (31.7 mpg at Morgan State)

4 years of eligibility

6-0 guard Taylor Barnes (ESPN #73)
5-10 guard Isis Johnson-Musah
5-10 guard Grace McCallop
5-5 guard Aliyahna "Puff" Morris (ESPN #22, 247 Sports #25, On3 #27)

Supposedly the 25-26 roster, but very incomplete.

How can the roster be incomplete? Does anyone on staff (WBB or AD) look at the page?

Another example of the self-inflicted wounds Cal is so good at. Granted, this is like a self-inflicted hangnail, but still ...

How hard is this?

They usually wait until all of the players are on campus in the summer (which they will be for workouts, scrimmages) so they can take new pics and update their bios.

Charmin also mentioned on the Valkyries pre-game show on Friday evening that they will all be attending at least one Valkyries game over the summer.

Good grief. Have you ever written anything positive about the Cal WBB program?

Agree with Clay on the roster. Aren't people paid to take care of these things? At least and assistant coach could be charged with tesponsibility. Correct information helps fan enthusiasm. Sloppy administration, like sloppy play, just turns a fan away.

It's only May! Season doesn't start until late October or early November. Are people really thinking about the roster now?

Sure, let's put an assistant coach on it instead of being out on the road recruiting like Jenny Huth is doing right now (in Alabama). Gotcha!

Maybe an intern can do it early this summer so you folks can then find something else to complain about. Ridiculous.

It seems to me that if you care enough to publish an announcement of a new player signing, you should care enough to add the player to the roster page, even if the Bio and photo are to be filled in later.

Well, gosh darn, Coach Dawn Staley and Coach Kim Mulkey haven't updated their rosters either. Must be a WBB thing. Sakima Walker is still listed at South Carolina. Likewise, Mjracle Sheppard at LSU.

Hmmmmmm.

Feel free to contact Charmin Smith and let her know about your concerns.

...and the National Champions Connecticut!

The gross incompetence of these professionals is STAGGERING!

A player doesn't have to stick with a school (via the portal) until they show up and attend a class. Rosters aren't finalized until signed off by AD fyi. I think it's just a tad early for all schools at this point.

"When is the roster finalized?
Athletic Director Signature: The roster is finalized when the athletic director signs it.
Pre-Season: This typically happens before the start of the season."

Mulkey and Staley don't have a problem with fan enthusiasm. Cal needs every bit of enthusiasm it can muster. WBB could also just state roster will be out on X date. And really, assistant have the two minutes it takes to update the roster.

I think we should close this thread and start over. The issue now is is Ackerman going to come back or not. Or is there anyone else still out there that we can land who would be better. Again, a number of us have pointed out that this last slot should be with a graduate student rather than an average player who could consume a roster spot for a number of years. I would prefer Ackerman if she is healthy. We will know as soon as the program is ready to tell us something.

Well, today there are 15 names posted, including Claudia and Natalia.

Sofia is a walk-on, so it's possible there is still space for one more.

Thanks for the news. I see Taylor is listed as a forward, good to see since I think we can use a forward who has some game away from the basket.

Last year in her limited role Tali was very effective. If she's back I consider that a good thing.
