She's got big shoes to fill following two 5th year seniors
Let's see what she can do!
Puff Morris of the California women’s basketball team was named to the ACC Preseason All-Freshman Team, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning. A native of Rancho Cucamonga, Morris was one of just six freshmen across the conference named to the list.
Morris, the 22nd-ranked player (according to ESPN) of the 2025 class, came to Cal after a stellar career at Etiwanda High School which culminated in her being named a McDonald’s All-American. She is the first McDonald’s All-American to join the Golden Bears since Kristine Anigwe in 2015.
Morris’ long list of career accolades at Etiwanda include leading the Eagles to three straight California State Championships (open division) and being one of only seven players in California state history to be named the Cal Hi Sports State Player of the Year in all four class years. After her senior season in which she averaged 24.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game, Morris was also named the 2025 MaxPreps State Player of the Year and Ms. Basketball CA State Player of the Year in addition to being named a MaxPreps First-Team All- American and was MVP of the BallIsLife All-American Game.
