And some over aggressive defense - and UOP out with an early lead after an 8-0 run - 13-5, 4:50 to go in first.
The only positive is that UOP's top scorer, Bartholomew, is on the bench with two fouls. But, the 8-0 run started after she went to the bench. sigh.

Livestats says when we return, Morris will be on bench and McCallop will be in.

Puff Morris cannot play PG at this level. She is too slow, and Pacific has outscored Cal 8-0, mostly at the expense of Morris inability to direct the offense. Cal was outplayed 10-0 to finish the half and tie up the game, 24-24. Puff has 5 TOs.

I thought the Tigers would be the slowest team that the Bears would face, averaging 24 TOs per game. I was wrong. UOP only has 7 while Cal has committed 15 turnovers at intermission. The entry passes to the three post players have been turnovers almost every time. Langarita is immobile and cannot jump to catch the passes. The TOs go to the guards, but she cannot perform adequately. None of the posts step out to meet the pass.

The Bears appear to be the worst shooting team that I have witnessed in Berkeley. Taylor Barnes is missing close in shots and layups, converting only 2 of 8 shots. She has the only three. Cal again is 1 for 8 (12.5%) from deep.

Sakima Walker cannot stay of the floor. She might be the next Michelle Onyiah.

Those history stats could make a loss here even more embarrassing - Cal is 27-2 in the series and UOP hasn't won since 1997 and never in Berkeley.
But, there's a lot of time left - so no panic needed.

Really poor play by the Bears. Numerous completely unforced turnovers. Rushed off balance shots. And Puff does look slow and not look like an eventual elite player (hope this is premature).

I don't know what to feel. UOP went over 10 minutes with no points. But, in the last 2:30 minutes or so, they go on a 10-0 run to tie the game at half at 24.
Bears with 15 turnovers against 8 made field goals. Cal missed their last 5 shots in addition to turnovers. Cal didn't make a basket the last 4:17 of the half.

Granted, the Yergensen of UOP made two deeep high arcing tosses for three point shots - but those count.
