Cal Heads To Hoopfest In Texas - California Golden Bears Athletics

Being excessively frugal (read, "cheap"), I object to tossing monthly fees for an occasional game. I'm going to see if I can get Grand Canyon and Auburn's audio coverage. A pity Cal doesn't offer this.

Auburn game is on the same network on Wednesday. I have signed up for Flo Softball, but I don't know if it covers women's basketball or not. I'll have to check.

I could not find a free trial for Flo Sports. A one month subscription in shown for $19.99. If I can confirm that the Auburn game will also be on that service, I will be inviting WVIT over to watch with me, so at least it will be two for the price of one.

Will also be hoping that Cal athletics will consider availability of tv or streaming services for their fans when they sign up for these away games. Could even watch a game from Paris this year, so why not from Frisco, Texas?

I have driven thru Frisco. My sister in law had a ranch in Anna Texas which is about an hour north of Dallas. Not to far from Midland Texas.

I thought that I had all possible streaming sites for women's basketball. But the one-month Flo Sports subscription seems the only way to watch this one. And, sadly, I also didn't see anything else on Flo Sports that I will want to watch this month except for our two games in this tournament.

This is when I miss the old Comcast "Pac-12 Bay Area" channel. A lot of these games would be available on TV. So I guess 49ers then for this evening!

Stats say teams have combined for 27 turnovers in the first half, 15 for Cal (!) and 12 for GCU.

Cal up 33-27 at half. Ojukwu and Sheppard lead Cal with 9 and Twidale has 7.

If you are not streaming, this is a game to miss watching so far. 15 TO's and a lot of tight calls by the refs. Donez has been steady and Naya is scoring and rebounding. But nothing else memorable so far..

Charmin played the other freshmen too, McCallop and Johnson. Both had a turnover.

Looks like a game to miss looking at. Cal started out horribly. and then righted the ship but kept letting GCU stick around by committing turnover after turnover after turnover. Seemed like a lot of offensive fouls called on both teams.

Third Quarter Box - Cal out to 11 point lead 53-42 but turnovers continue... although "only" 4 in the quarter.

Keep in mind this is only our second road game. First in the U.S..

5 turnovers in the first three minutes of fourth quarter! (Note: offensive fouls are counted as turnovers)
Twidale left her shot behind in Berkeley - as she is presently 1-8 - and Barnes is 0-2. Morris with 5 turnovers against one assist.


But, the important thing is Cal 53-GCU 44 with 647 to go.

I mean, Twidale has played 34 of 35 possible minutes so far. Don't know if keeping her fresh is what we're going for.

4:36 to go - Cal up 57-48.
Ojukwu in only 16 minutes, with 10 on 3-6 shooting, 4-6 FT, 9 rebounds but 3 fouls (only 1 turnover). she's all over the stat sheet

Think alot of the rotation/playing time is due to fouls also. Not sure if the stacast is matching up with what the GCU play by play guy in term of fouls for a couple of Bears.

He's also mentioned the 3 refs calling things pretty tight which led to some offensive fouls/turnovers

I'm not listening just watching the live stats.
2 minutes to go and GCU creeps closer - Cal 60- GUC 53.

108 to go. Cal 62- GCU 55 after a Walker jumper.

37 seconds to go - Morris with a 3! Cal 65 GCU 57.

With GCU having cut it to 62-57, Morris, who is having a tough turnover game, nails the 3 to make it 65-57 with 37 seconds left.
