I missed the Duke game because I couldn't pqrk in the parking garage and I don't stream. But I made it yesterday.
Good parts
1. any time you get to see live basketball, it beats TV. You get to watch the warmups. You get to talk to the fans when the music is not blaring.
2. During warmups, I had a feeling that Naya and Sakima would play together. Why? Because during the warmups, Naya was shooting from further out. Maybe 10 to 12 feet from the basket and she didn't look bad. she even tried a three which ended up being an airball. And they did play together but Naya didn't score till the 4th quarter. And they played together in the first half too. She got most of her points from free throws. but she made one nice pass from the high post.
3. The Wake forrest team had an interesting defense. Started out as a 1-3-1 zone but sometimes evolved into a matchup zone with man to man principles. They are really a young tem starting three freshmen and they are good. The key on offense is to get the ball in the center near the high post. Trouble was thatTaylor couldn't make a 10 foot jump shot. I don't particularly like her shoot. Sometimes she hits it and sometimes she doesn't. but she is a strong defender and rebounds well. In fct, we have bee getting great rebounding from both her and Maul.
4. Our defense was great. The unit we start is pretty good size on the wings. Wake was shooting 44.5 % coming into the game and we held them to 38.6 %.
5. The crowd was decent yesterday. Charmin said the team plays better when the crowd is in to it. and is fairly good size. Particularly when you are short handed. Cheering at home just doesn't do it for the team.
6. Plenty of parking so I got close to the elevator.
Bad:
1. Finally had an usher but she sometimes left when people were sitting in the wrong seats. I confronted her but she made the excuse that it wasn't her job. Well, who's job is it?
2. Music still too loud. Talked to Stu at half time and we went out into the hall. some people say wear ear plugs, but hall can you hear the speaker with ear plugs?
3. I hate the loudness when they say, make noise. You can't hear the crowd cheering

1. Mary Carter form Antelope was their leading scorer. I remember her from high school but I don't think she originally went to Wake Forrest. How about that Clay?
Charmin wants us to come to the Stanford game. how many will come?
