"Junior guard Gisella Maul of the California women's basketball team was named a U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Ann Meyers Drysdale Player of the Week honoree, it was announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon. Maul joins four other players across the country who received the weekly accolade, which is drawn from weekly conference honors as well as at-large additions. She becomes the seventh ACC player this season to earn the recognition."

It took three years, but she has returned to the level of dominant performance that she had shown in high school before her high school knee injury. Texas wasn't patient with her, but Charmin has persevered.

Delighted for Gisella; she's exactly the sort of student-athlete, in both her skills and her character, that I want to see at Haas, and Cal.
